Freelancing can be tough.
It’s not always easy pleasing a client or working under a deadline.
In fact, every once and a while it’s enough to make you want to stop creating…stop designing.
The problem is, designing has become a business for you.
I mean, it’s a good problem to have because now you’re making money doing something you love.
But some days the thing you love is also the thing you hate.
And that’s ok.
If you’re anything like me, I get stuck every once and a while. And I’ve discovered recently that the best way to get un-stuck is to create something amazing.
Make a commitment to yourself today to create something amazing.
And don’t worry about the money. Don’t worry about ROI. Don’t worry about critics or feedback or politics. Just don’t worry about anything.
Set aside some time this week to create something truly amazing. Maybe something you’ve wanted to do for a long time.
Whether you write the best blog post of your life
or design a new logo just for fun
or redesign your web site
or build a coffee table
or finger paint with your kids
or sculpt a skyscraper out of clay
or paint a masterpiece…
I don’t care what it is you create that’s amazing. Just do it.
You’ll feel better
I promise: if you’ve been stuck in a rut lately, try making something amazing without thinking about the return on your investment or the money you might make or lose from it.
I’d love to see photos of whatever you make that’s amazing. Leave links on this post or on the GDB facebook page.
